CCC History

1938 Local Brethren gathered in an old dormitory building moved from Selleck to Covington WA and started to create the dream and the roots of a Community Church .

1942 Elders buy property on 17455 SE Wax Rd and start the planning of Covington Community Church

1952 Construction begins by hand with timber from our land with community volunteers donating more timber, tools, and free labor

1953 Easter Sunday was our first service in our new church

1964 The parsonage house was built

1984 A permanent pastor arrived and stayed for 25 years until experiencing declining attendance, also volunteer property team managers were formed to help keep the property looking good

2015 The Lord sent us a new pastor and his family with 2 young children that brought new life, children, a vision, and renewed energy to our aging church

2019 The Lord sends us a newly retired property manager with big equipment and connections who begins the process of updating our buildings, and properties, now 50 years older, with new paint, roof repairs, and windows!

2020 COVID hits and the Lord continued to be generous in his giving to keep us going with projects and starting a parsonage fund to help cover costs of a new pastor in our future

2022 There is still lots to do but we are on a reset with our congregational needs currently which are drastically different from 1953 days of old!

2023 70 years young We are Blessed to be a part of the oldest building in Covington WA still standing strong, with a loving congregation, and a Peace mission to continue to reach out to our community with LOVE Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever!!

Our Symbol is made up of Three Elements

1. The Circle:

The circle represents Relationship, Community, Unity. Because of Jesus, it has no beginning or ending.

2. The Open C:

The "C" is recurring ibn ur name - Covington Community Church - but is also symbolizes our openness to the Covington community through our hospitality and our openness to Gods revelation with Crist at the center.

3. The Rough Edge:

There is a rough edge around the loop which represents how we are a work in progress. We are not perfect but rather an eclectic bunch of fixer uppers that follow Jesus.
